British Washing Machine

The British Washing Machines

In 2016 Ebac returned Washing Machine manufacturing to the UK for the first time in a decade.

Ever aware that the development and manufacturing of Washing Machines would be a challenge for Ebac, founder John Elliott took a gamble and put it down to the “desire for a British made product”.

"Bought this Washing Machine because it was Made in Britain and haven't regretted it one bit."

"Does it meet our expectations in terms of performance though? The answer is YES, YES, YES."

“We consume more than we make and we need to reverse that situation” – John Elliott

Work to establish the production of Washing Machines followed YEARS of planning, research and development, which included more than 120,000 hours of testing and 7 million pounds of investment.

Celebrating 47 Years of British Manufacturing

Here at Ebac, we are one step ahead of other Washing Machine manufacturers.

Based in North-East England, all our Washing Machines are designed, tested and manufactured under the same roof.
Doing this saw us become the ONLY Washing Machine Made in Britain in over a decade. Something which Ebac are EXTREMELY proud of and will continue to champion for decades to come.

A Constant Strive For Innovation

We manufacture as much as we can here in Britain.

It is this constant strive for innovation that has seen us go on to design and manufacture more than 60% of parts needed for our Washing Machines, even the equipment required for the manufacturing process including; electric circuit boards, injection mouldings and metal fabrication facilities.

Protecting British Manufacturing Forever

However, the manufacturing of Washing Machines is part of a much bigger picture.

In 2012 John gifted Ebac to a foundation, The Ebac Foundation.
This means that all profits are reinvested back into the business to support people and their local communities. But the core purpose of The Ebac Foundation is to ensure that the business will ALWAYS remain in Britain and protect British manufacturing.
