1. Consider which type of dehumidifier.
At Ebac, we sell 2 main types of dehumidifiers – compressor and desiccant. Each of these works best in different conditions.
Compressor dehumidifiers should be your only consideration when choosing a dehumidifier for your home. They have been designed for domestic applications to provide the most efficient way of running. With more than enough extraction capacity to solve damp/condensation problems and lower running costs, these dehumidifiers use a compressor and a heat exchanger to remove moisture from the air.
On the other hand, we also have desiccant dehumidifiers, which we see as most suitable for industrial applications or unheated buildings where the temperate drops below 5ºC. These dehumidifiers are mostly used in industrial and construction projects where very large amounts of water need removed and running costs are not important.
Deciding which is most suitable to your needs is the first step in making sure you get the most out of your dehumidifier.
2. Pay attention to the control system
At first glance, you may not see the control system as a key factor in deciding which dehumidifier to buy. However, there are 3 main factors to consider when looking at the control of a dehumidifier; minimizing wasting electricity; ensuring the appropriate amount of excess moisture is removed and simplicity and convenience.
Older, more traditional dehumidifiers use a manual humidistat. This means that you have to change the setting manually throughout the day for optimum conditions. At Ebac, we have developed our Smart Control technology so you don’t have to do a thing.
Ebac’s patented Smart Control is a new way of controlling your dehumidifier. Smart Control optimizes the performance of the dehumidifier to ensure condensation, damp and mould are eliminated in the most efficient and cost-effective way. By monitoring excess humidity in your home and only switching on when it needs to, Smart Control dehumidifiers operate more efficiently than any other dehumidifier.
3. Look at the water container
When using your dehumidifier properly to get maximum efficiency, you should be emptying the water container daily. That is why it is so important to have a secure, easy to use water container.
The water containers on our dehumidifiers are fully sealed and have a handle to ensure ease of use when you are emptying your water. No spillage and no fuss.
4. Check it is made for the UK climate
Almost all other dehumidifier brands are designed for use across the world and are actually manufactured in China. China often suffers with extreme weather conditions, ranging from very hot to very cold.
Ebac’s dehumidifiers are designed specifically for the UK’s winters – cold and damp conditions that require special Ebac technology such as Smart Control and Intelligent Defrost to actually solve the excess moisture issue.
Ebac dehumidifiers are configured differently to work in UK homes to control condensation compared to working in tropical conditions. Our 35 years of extensive experience, expert knowledge and on-going research allow us to ensure Ebac dehumidifiers are the most effective within the UK.
You simply won’t find a more suitable dehumidifier.
5. Look for high-quality build
At Ebac, we manufacture our dehumidifiers using only high-quality components. This makes sure that they last a long time in your home and run with little noise.
We’ve spent 44 years perfecting our dehumidifiers. We’ve considered every possible aspect of design, manufacture and technology to develop the best dehumidifiers in the world.
