From domestic models that remove exactly the right amount of moisture to industrial grade units that can remove 120 litres per day – Ebac has it all. But we recommend you buy a dehumidifier that’s adaptive and responsive to your needs – don’t just buy a big one.
95% of UK homes need to remove a maximum of 2 litres per day to prevent damp and condensation. All Ebac dehumidifiers do this comfortably. Most houses do not even need to remove this much and that’s why Ebac’s Smart Control is so important. Smart Control senses the right amount to remove per day. 0.5 litres one day, 2 litres the next - Smart Control manages the dehumidifier to provide optimal adaptive extraction.
Some manufacturers encourage customers to buy high extraction domestic dehumidifiers. Ebac doesn’t not believe this is appropriate advice. When a very powerful dehumidifier removes the excess moisture in a house, it simply starts to attract moisture from outside the house. You are literally then paying money for electricity to suck in moisture from outside to inside and then pour the water down the drain.
Extraction rates quoted by all dehumidifier manufacturers can be misleading - as they generally refer to water extraction in conditions not found in the UK. Not only that, it has been the trend to build bigger and more powerful domestic dehumidifiers when they are not necessary.
In the past, dehumidifiers were imported from the USA and Asia – where climate conditions are more humid with higher temperatures. When these dehumidifiers found their way tothe UK, the same standard measurement of extraction capacity was used – despite it being irrelevant to the UK.
Litres of water extracted per 24 hours became the way to classify dehumidifier performance. Extraction capacity is determined by three factors:
All Ebac domestic dehumidifiers are guaranteed to solve all domestic damp and condensation problems. Therefore the extraction rate of Ebac dehumidifiers is not relevant. Smart Control varies the extraction rate on a hour to hour basis.
